The present invention relates to an equipment of examining physical fitness and a method of measuring degradation index. The examination equipment includes: an examination platform having a foot pad, a seat pad and a measurement rod, wherein a pressure sensor is respectively installed inside the foot pad and the seat pad, a hand rail having a pressure sensor at its inside is connected to the middle section of the a measurement rod, the middle rear section of the measurement rod is bent to be parallel with the ground, a movable headpiece is penetratedly installed on the free end, and the pivotal position is installed with a distance sensor to sense the distance from the headpiece; a screen platform having a display screen; and a control system including a degradation data collection module to receive signals from each pressure sensor and said distance sensor and then to measure the data related to user's body height, body weight, reactive force, grip strength, functional forward reach, muscle endurance, mobility and balance measurement. Thereby, by using said method, this invention can provide user's complete aging indexes.
