Abstract

In this paper, a novel dc converter is proposed for low voltage distributed energy system applications. The proposed converter possesses the merits of higher step-up ratio, lower input current ripples, lower conduction loss as well as zero voltage switching of active switches. In addition, the proposed converter is allowed to operate at a duty ratio less than 0.5 and hence can achieve much wider operating range. The steady state analyses are made to show the merits of the proposed converter. Finally the validity of the proposed converter is also verified through comprehensive experimental results.
