Abstract

In this paper, we present a one-tap frequency domain equalizer based on a modified RLS algorithm for OFDM systems. Compared to the conventional one-tap frequency domain NLMS (Normalized Least Mean Square) and RLS (Recursive Least Square) equalizer, the division operation in the proposed algorithm is not required, and therefore as a benefit to the implementation. In addition, channel state information (CSI) can be obtained from the proposed adaptive equalizer to aid Viterbi decoder that makes the whole system more reliable.
