Abstract

A performance-driven configurable motion estimator for full search block-matching algorithm (FSBMA) is described in this paper. According to the performance requirements for different video applications, we may design a scalable and configurable architecture to meet the specifications of the funcation, the throughput rate and external memory bandwidth of system's requirements. The proposed architecture is designed to achieve the performance-driven requirements by configuring the following parameters: current block size (N), search range (p), and multiple-slice processing (m).
