Abstract

This paper proposes a multi-battery charger with Reflex charging technique. This circuit is achieved by an interleaved buck-boost converter with RLC snubber. The required positive/negative pulses for the Reflex charging are generated by only controlling the resonant period of the RLC snubber and the driving signals of the main switches with microchip. With the proposed circuit structure, not only the lifetime of rechargeable batteries can be extended due to the use of Reflex charging technique. Moreover, with the interleaved buck-boost converter, the efficiency of the charger can be further improved and the charging of multi-batteries simultaneously can be achieved. In this project, a multi-battery charger with Reflex charging technique is implemented for verifying its performance. Experimental results show that the proposed circuit structure can generate the required positive/negative pulses for the Reflex charging.
