Abstract
OFDM systems are very sensitive to phase errors induced by oscillators instability. In this paper, we present a pilot-based phase estimator, which is applied to one-tap frequency domain LMS equalizer for OFDM systems. However, if the residual phase error is too large after compensating in time domain, the LMS equalizer may not have good convergence behavior. In order to keep LMS equalizer working normally, we utilize the pilot-based phase estimator to estimate the residual phase error and keep LMS equalizer being convergent.
