Abstract
With exchanges in politics, economy and culture growing worldwide in recent years, homogeneity has become increasingly serious, which also throws down challenges to the traditional lacquer painting art in the market. This paper attempts to analyze the merits and demerit of traditional lacquer painting art creation so as to apply its merits to the creation of paper-based lacquer paintings, and to explore the possibility of reducing the stereotype of thickness and heavy colors featured by traditional lacquer painting art by changing the materials used in creation. By viewing 3 pieces of paper-based lacquer paintings respectively created at technical, semantic, and effect levels (3 groups of paintings, totaling 9 pieces), viewers were asked to answer three questions in questionnaires related to subjective evaluation. After relevant statistics and analysis, the results show that the innovative paper-based lacquer paintings successfully resonated with the subjects. The innovation in this study helps artists to provide a possible sample for the innovation of traditional lacquer art. There are still many possibilities for the innovation of lacquer art, which will be worth discussing in further research.
