Abstract

This paper proposes a systematic approach to developing isolated interleaving converters with a single-capacitor turn-off snubber to smooth out switch turn-off transition. With the proposed approach, the basic isolated interleaving converters with a single-capacitor turn-off snubber, such as forward, flyback, isolated boost, isolated 'Cuk, isolated Zeta and isolated sepic converters, can be derived from the conventional ones with two lossless turn-off snubbers (L-C-D type). It has been shown that the structure of the proposed isolated interleaving converters can be conventionally simpied from the derived general configurations, reducing the complexity significantly. Measured results obtained from a prototype flyback converter have verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed single-capacitor snubber.
