Abstract
This work designs a wideband and high-gain 60GHz antenna array. For bandwidth improvement, paired shorted patches were added to the SIW (Substrate-integrated waveguide) slots to form a magneto-electric dipole antenna array. The 1 × 2 magneto-electric dipole array designed in this way achieved a simulated bandwidth of 26.4% and a gain of 9.21 dBi. For further gain enhancement, a SIW parallel eight-way feed network was designed to complete a 2 × 8 magneto-electric dipole antenna array. The simulated results achieved a wide bandwidth of 21.9% and a high gain of 17.3 dBi at 60 GHz.
