Abstract

This paper presents a soft-switching interleaved boost converter with coupled inductor for high step-up ratio applications. In the proposed converter, an interleaved boost converter associated with a coupled inductor to raise its powering capability and to increase its step-up ratio. To achieve high conversion efficiency, an active clamp circuit is introduced into the proposed one for achieving zero-voltage switching at turn-on transition. In addition, switches in the boost converter and active clamp circuit are integrated with a synchronous switch technique to reduce circuit complexity and component counts, resulting in a lower cost, smaller volume and higher efficiency. Finally, a prototype with step-up ratio of 8, and output voltage and current of 350 V/2A have been verified the feasibility of the proposed converter.
