Abstract

Based on the conception of voting, this paper proposes an error control scheme of hybrid ARQ for binary linear block codes over AWGN channel. The proposed scheme keeps each decoded code word in the memory buffers as a candidate at each transmission. Whenever there are a number of code words in the candidates are the same one, retransmission stops. In other words, the plurality of code words among candidates is chosen as the output code word. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed scheme outperforms ARQ scheme not only in the throughput efficiency but also in the error-correcting performance, particularly under low SNR.
