Abstract

The bandwidth of crossbar multiprocessors was analyzed for generalized memory reference models. Markov chain was used to model the behaviors of the processors in a crossbar multiprocessor. An efficient algorithm to evaluate the bandwidth of a crossbar multiprocessor with static priority was presented. The results show that the analysis using the Markov chain based model provides more accurate results as compared to previous models and can be applied to more general cases.
