Abstract

A novel amplitude sensitive optical heterodyne polarimeter in which a Zeeman laser associates with a balanced detector scheme to measure the optical activity / n r-n l / of a quzrtz crystal is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The sensitivity of the measurement to 8.5×10 -10 is analyzed.
