Abstract

Carcinosarcoma of the gallbladder is a rare tumor characterized by an admixure of malignant epithelial and malignant mesenchymal components. Hereto two cases are reported to illustrate difficulties in the diagnosis, clinical management and poor prognosis of this tumor. The 15-year experience of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital with primary gallbladder cancer is reported to provide incidence, which represents 2.1% of gallbladder malignancy.
