Comprehensive performance comparison of IDMA and CDMA

Abstract

In this letter, we provide comprehensive comparison for Interleave Division Multiple Access (IDMA) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems with channel coding or not, and with Minimal Mean Square Error (MMSE) filter or not. The following three cases: (1) uncoded, (2) long code CDMA without MMSE filter, (3) short code CDMA with MMSE filter are not found in the literature. Thus, we are motivated to add the comparison of the IDMA and CDMA systens in these three cases. The simulation results show that IDMA still outperforms CDMA in these three cases.
