Abstract

With the European Union began being implemented Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), it is a crucial issue to the 3C electronics industries for the export-oriented Taiwan. According to the interview with the test organization for electronics industry and the system manufacturers for 3C product, though some of the manufacturers have established in conformity with relevant measures for REACH directive at supply side, it still has possibilities to be performed better for green product management through managing green supplier. Moreover, the others have not yet actively responded to the directive in control operations. Hence, this study focuses the system manufacturers of the 3C electronics industry on the product development phase through product life cycle analysis and the requests of green specification. It joints both literature survey and in-depth interview by means of the Natural Step (TNS) with a four-step framework to design a control system for system manufacturers at the green product development stage.
