Abstract

This paper mainly investigates the issue of the controller parameter design of a twin-rotor experimental system. In order to avoid the wastage caused by a long-term parameter tuning, a certain parameter design skill of Taguchi method is used to simplify the tuning procedure. Following the analysis of S/N ratio, a set of optimal PID controller parameters, implemented on the addressed twin-rotor system, can be obtained. Experimental results indicate that the derived PID controller indeed provides better control performances.
