Abstract

Cystic lymphangioma of the spleen is a rare tumor. Two patients were reported with this condition. One of the patients underwent progressive postprandial epigastric pain over a six months period. Ultrasonography and computed tomography (CT) scanning showed an enlarged spleen with a lobulated cyst. Upper gastrointestinal series study revealed a compression at the posto-lateral aspect of the gastric fundus. Another patient had a mass at the left upper quadrant of the abdomen. Ultrasonography and CT revealed an enlarged spleen with multiple cysts. These two patients underwent splenectomy; histopathology revealed a lymphangioma of the spleen.
