Abstract

The central purpose of this study is to develop a driver and a controller for an electric control system for a dual power driving vehicle. The system contains a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor driver, a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO 4) battery charging system, a generator driver and an energy management system. In the electric control system, a digital signal processor (DSP) TMS320LF2407 is used to as the main controller. This study applies the electric control system for a LiFePO 4-battery-based parallel hybrid system and controls the vehicle's operation modes. The development of energy management strategy under load conditions is also discussed. Moreover, after the construction of an experiment platform, real tests of the dual power functions of the electric control system were conducted and predictions verified.
