Abstract

A transesophageal dynamic 3-D echo before and after balloon mitral commissurotomy (BMC) was performed in 68 patients undergoing BMC. Results show that anatomical details could be appreciated with dynamic 3D-echo. However, in patients with atrial fibrillation, electrocardiographic gating was tedious and time consuming. Thus, 3-D echo can provide important information in patients undergoing BMC.
