Abstract
The effect of topical triamicinolone acetonide in petrolatum was studied on the microbial flora of forearms unoccluded and occluded with layers of plastic (Saran) wrap. No significant difference between test and petrolatum sites were found at both occluded and unoccluded sites. These observations and their relation to the clinical use of topical corticosteroids are discussed.
