Abstract

This research focuses on the effect of carbon loading, in 0.2wt% increment, on the performance improvements of the elastomer heat sinks. The results shows an interesting change in heat transfer mechanism of surface phonon transfer at higher carbon loading and a bulk phonon transfer at lower carbon loading. Finally, the results were compared to an aluminum heat sink and were found that the heat dissipation for the heat sink with higher carbon loading performed better than the aluminum heat sink.
