Abstract

A study of the energy loss spectra of electrons transmitted through carbon was carried out. The straggling function is defined as varying with the energy of the degraded electrons. Inner shell ionization cross sections calculated using the binary encounter-quantal method are included. Results computed using the convolution technique are compared with other theoretical results and experimental data.
