Abstract
A novel millimeter-wave short backfire antenna with a circular waveguide TM01 mode feed is proposed and simulated using the FDTD method. It has a radiation pattern that is similar to that of a circular microstrip patch antenna operating in the TM02 mode, but it has a much higher gain and lower sidelobe levels. The proposed antenna can be used for millimeter-wave wireless LAN applications.
