Finite element method analyses of a KA band swallow tail finline/mic mixer

Abstract

Finite element method (FEM) analysis of high; RF/LO isolation millimeter wave mixers has been performed in this paper. It aims to study the RF/LO isolation properties of the swallow tail finline mixer we did previously [1], which has backside metal at the end of unilateral finline taper. Experiment and simulation results both prove that swallow tail has broadband flatness adjustment ability for RF/LO isolation over Ka band.
