Abstract

The greater omentum is a unique organ with multi-potential properties. In the past two years, seven cases of vascularized free omental transfer have been performed in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. Among these, four transfers were used to augment soft tissue deficiencies in the face due to atrophy of Romberg's disease or post-radiation atrophy; two were used to treat chronic osteomyelitis, and one was used to reconstruct soft tissue defect of the lower leg. All seven transfers succeeded without complications.
