Abstract
A 5-year-old boy with Clostridium septicum enterocolitis presented with severe right lower abdominal pain. On the day after admission, shock, neutropenia and pneumoperitoneum prompted a laparotomy. Gangrene of the ileum and colon was identified, associated with a fatal Closuidium septcum infection.
