Abstract

DNA hybridization of thrombin-binding aptamers (TBAs) to form a self-assembled arranged monolayer on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was used to control the coagulation activity of thrombin. The hTBA 15/hTBA 29/cDNA-AuNPs provided flexibility and a suitable orientation and distance between the hTBA 15 and hTBA 29 units for bivalent binding, allowing strong interactions with thrombin and extremely high anticoagulant potency.
