Hardware implementation of the reflective mirror micro projector

Abstract

Nowadays, digital assistants, mobile phones and other personal portable devices take video function as a basic requirement, but the quality of display is limited by the screen size. Using modulated laser diode as light source illuminating to the MEMS scanning reflective mirror to project a picture, it will escape the limit of screen size and improve the quality of the image. The laser diode which has the advantage of good focus property and no dispersion occurs with a long distance is used as light source instead of light-emitting diodes, and it can make the projector size smaller and more portable. In this work, the micro-projector with a reflective MEMS scanning mirror is studied. The projection resolution and size will depend on the X- and Y -axis input frequency. How to suitable selecting the X- and Y -axis input frequency is an important work for a reflective MEMS scanning mirror. We have implemented the micro-projector by hardware circuit successfully.
