Abstract

The most frequent benign tumours of the liver include haemangioma, liver cell adenoma and focal nodular hyperplasia. Patients may undergo hepatic resection because of a preoperative diagnosis of malignancy or uncertainty in diagnosis despite an extensive work-up. (C) 2000 Blackwell Science Asia Pty Ltd.
