Abstract

In this paper, we propose a high speed communication based state estimator for the future power system, smart grid. The proposed state estimator is carried out by a distributed/parallel algorithm, which is formed by combining successive quadratic programming with the dual method, to solve the power system's state estimation problem. We have tested the proposed state estimator on the IEEE 30-bus system. Numerous simulation cases are performed. The simulation results demonstrate the accuracy and the computational efficiency of the proposed state estimator.
