N2 - A rapid growth of the photovoltaic (PV) industries is observed in recent years due to the rising energy costs and increasing concern for climate change. While the efficiency of PV cell is important, the reliability of the cell is also crucial especially the PV cells are subjected to extreme climate conditions and their lifetime has a direct impact in the determination of the price per kW h owing to its low maintenance and operating cost. Unfortunately, reliability study of PV cells is rarely reported. In this work, we reported the humidity study of PV cells, showing how the moisture can affect the PV cell performance and the underlying mechanisms. It is found that the reliability weakness of PV cell is mainly related to the packaging of the PV cells.
