Abstract

Neuron-bipolar junction transistor (vBJT) was presented. Large-neighborhood cellular neural networks (CNN) and silicon retina were designed by using vBJT. The vBJT-based smoothing array can be to form smart sensors by integrating them with other CMOS retinal signal processing circuits. Large neighborhood can be implemented in the proposed vBJT CNN without adding many extra interconnections and circuits. The template coefficients with two neighborhood layers were fully realized by using the proposed structure.
