Intelligent Medical Interactive Educational System for Cardiovascular Disease

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of global deaths, accounting for 30% of total deaths every year. To arouse the public’s attention to cardiovascular health, it is bound to provide sufficient education materials for cardiovascular patients to improve health and reduce medical costs. Currently, there is no systematic and patient orientated guidelines in Chinese regarding cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, this research proposed a smart medical interactive education system based on natural language processing and chatbot intelligence. We adopted Line Bot chat mode to provide pertinent medical knowledge for patients. All medical media are designed based on patient-oriented mechanisms. The Patient Educational Material Evaluation Tool (PEMAT) was applied to evaluate the quality of medical documents and video clips. In addition, relationship among various media elements were constructed based on collected keywords to ensure those messages not correctly processed through natural language processing could be successfully converted into a single response by text mining techniques. This research is the first constructive and intelligent interactive education chatbot system for patients with cardiovascular diseases.
