Abstract

This paper proposes an interleaved buck-boost converter with a single-capacitor turn-off snubber to reduce the switching loss at turn-off transition and to limit rising rate of voltages across switches for reducing spike voltage. In addition, the proposed converter adopts coupled inductor to attain a high step-up voltage ratio and operates in an interleaved fashion to reduce output current ripple. As compared with the counterparts of the conventional converter topologies, the proposed one has the merits of less component counts, higher efficiency, smaller size, and they are easier to implement. Hardware measurement results obtained from experimental prototype have been verified these merits.
