Abstract

A new hardware architecture of amplitude shift keying (ASK) demodulation for portable wirelessly data-combined power transfer, especially those biomedical applications requiring permanently harvested power through radio frequency, is proposed. The architecture along with its circuit details provides dramatically enhanced energy efficiency in the system while at the same time achieving cost-effective data demodulation under a real challenging condition at the ASK modulation index. Experimental results in a 0.18 μm technology demonstrate the advantages of the proposed design.
