Abstract

The successful use of a laparoscopic approach to resect a retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenoma in a 35-year-old women is reported. Our findings show that diagnosis and management of retroperitoneal masses may be made easier with laparoscopic techniques. However, because of the uncertainty of a malignancy potential and the danger of intraperitoneal splitting, care must be taken to avoid rupture of the cystic lesion of retroperitoneum.
