Abstract

Vascular lymph node transfer has been preferred for surgical management in lymphedema. It provides promising results with long-lasting effects. There remain debates regarding the recipient site selection. More proximal recipient sites present with better aesthetic appearance after surgery. However, transferring the flap to more distal recipient sites seems to provide better function regarding drainage of the lymphatic fluid back into the venous system. Besides, since promising results have been published, various flaps have been explored as possible vascular lymph node flaps. In this chapter, the flaps as well as the recipient preparations are discussed.
