Abstract

We have studied the influence of the surface topology on the ma| ;netostatic coupling between two patterned ferromagr etic layers. By the Fourier series method, we can dete -mine the most suitable geometric parameters of the patterned spin-valve structures with giant magnetoresist nee. It was noted that a proper shift between two fei romagnetic layers can change the sign and magnitude of the intcrlayer coupling. © 1998 IEEE.
