Abstract

This paper presents a novel nozzle with HTUTs for detecting the mechanical properties of injection molding molded parts by comparing the amplitude of ultrasonic signals. The HTUT could operate above 250°C. The ultrasonic system was operated in transmission-through mold. The resin flow characteristics at nozzle, including dynamic flow speed and static density of polymer melt, would be monitored in-line.
