Abstract

The novel technique of developing a microstrip LPF is presented in this paper. The ground plane of a standard 50-ohm transmission line is perturbed by electromagnetic bandgap structure (EBGS) to generate ultra rejection band that in turn yields the LPF. The conventional method of low pass filter design is highly relaxed in the present approach. Even for higher attenuation of the signal through the wide range of frequencies finds the potential application of the present design as the multi mode suppressor especially in the bandpass filter (BPF). The performance of the proposed design is represented by its S-parameter performances.
