Abstract
A theory presented that was based on Hulst's scattering theory to satisfy the law of conservation of power in a receiving antenna was discussed. It was observed that the load currents were expressed in terms of some new functions in the scattering theory. Numerical implementations to calculate the load current of a long thin cylindrical dipole were performed for the classical theory and the new scattering theory. It was shown that the value of the calculated load currents were almost identical for both the theories.
