Abstract

The optical characteristic for top polymer light-emitting diodes (TPLEDs) of microcavity structure with various thicknesses of metal and TCO cathode was studied by simulation methodology. It demonstrated that the electroluminescence (EL) intensity varies periodically with the changing of the TCO thickness. The relation between the performance of device and the TCO electrode with different refractive indices is discussed as well. By processing numerical simulations, an optimized enhancement can be obtained by tuning the thickness and material of cathode.
