Abstract

With the use of commercial simulation software, strategies based on minimizing injection pressure and clamp force are to developed for optimizing molding of both thick and thin parts at high and low speeds. Thinner parts are shown to be naturally suited for high-speed filling, whereas thicker parts have a longer optimum fill time. This paper presents an initial consideration of design pressure and processing optimizing strategies aimed at reducing injection pressure and clamp force.
