Abstract
With the increasing use of ultrasound in obstetrics, congenital mesoblastic nephroma (CMN) can be detected before birth. We report a case of CMN that was detected by prenatal ultrasound at 29 weeks. The pregnancy was complicated with maternal polyhydramnios and premature labor. The neonate suffered from anemia, jaundice, hypercalcemia and hypertension. Radical nephrectomy was performed at nine days of age and the patient remains well one year after surgery without any further treatment. The clinical and histologic features of CMN and appropriate perinatal management of prenatally diagnosed CMN are discussed.
