Abstract
Long-term stability and durability are the most important issues in reconstructive procedures and the most desirable outcomes for functional reconstruction. We have reported our 14-year long-term follow-up of a case of reconstruction of the Achilles tendon and overlying skin. A composite groin-fascial free flap can reconstruct both the Achilles tendon and overlying soft tissue in a single stage with sufficient strength and a low adhesion rate. The donor-site morbidity of this flap is minimal, and the scar can be concealed easily.
