Abstract

Rumphellolide J (1), a novel sesquiterpenoid derivative, isolated from the gorgonian coral Rumphella antipathies, was determined to be an ester of 4 beta,8 beta-epoxycaryophyllan-5-ol and rumphellaoic acid by detailed spectroscopic analysis.
