Abstract

The present investigations describe the fine structure of the excretory complex, rectal cells and the anal vesicle of the microfilaria of Breinlia sergenti. The structure of the excretory cell and rectal cells is found to be similar to nerve cells. Axonal (digitiform) processes in the excretory and anal vesicles are described and a possible sensory function is ascribed to these structures.
