Abstract

We report the case of a male newborn with bilious vomiting. Prenatal ultrasonography and plain abdominal radiography showed a 'double bubble' suggesting duodenal obstruction. An upper gastrointestinal series revealed complete duodenal obstruction. We performed ultrasonography to evaluate the duodenal obstruction. With the help of water instillation into the stomach and duodenum, duodenal web with central aperture can be demonstrated by real-time sonographic examination.
