Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Tongue Metastatic to the Pancreas Presenting as a Cystic Mass

原發性胰臟扁平細胞癌很罕見，自非血源性腫瘤轉移至胰臟亦屬不尋常。我們在此報告壹例由原發性舌部扁平細胞癌所轉移之胰臟轉移癌，以胰臟囊腫來表現。病人一開始以左上腹痛來表現，初步診斷為復發性胰臟炎。進一步檢查發現在胰臟體部及尾部有顆8公分囊狀腫塊。病人接受手術經由次全胰切除及脾切除，成功地將腫瘤切除。最終病理報告證實是扁平細胞癌，極可能由原發性舌部扁平細胞癌所轉移而來。術後病人恢復良好，接受後續化學治療中。
Primary squamous cell carcinoma of the pancreas is rare, and metastasis to the pancreas from non-hematologic neoplasms is unusual. We hereby report a case of metastasis to the pancreas from primary squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue presenting as a pancreatic cyst. The patient initially suffered from left upper abdominal pain and was suspected of recurrent pancreatitis attacks. A further survey revealed an 8-cm cystic lesion involving the pancreatic body and tail. He underwent operation and the tumor was successfully removed en bloc with subtotal pancreatectomy and splenectomy. Final pathologic reports proved the lesion to be a squamous cell carcinoma, most probably from primary squamous carcinoma of the tongue. The patient recovered well and subsequent chemotherapy was undertaken.
